The M48 Safety Feeder is designed and Patented for license plate
production. The unit  shown
to the left is the front side of the feeder. The feeder incorporates
an upper section for embossing alpha-numeric and other special
characters by use of hinge-type dies. The bottom section of
the feeder embosses either an embossed rim around the plate
or a depressed flange (for graphic reflective sheeting type
plates). The unit can process license plate pairs (sandwiched
together) or singles.
Seen here from the back-side of the press, an operator feeds
the license plate blank into the safety feeder. The embossed
plate is ejected on this side. An optional out-feed conveyor
(not shown in picture) is used to convey the embossed plates
to the side of the press into a catch basket (also not shown).
A special “U” shaped die table is another available
option.
Please note that the Safety Feeder comes with safety guards
that have been removed for illustration purposes only.
